Hear it from parents and students throughout the years!
Our son, Daniel, started working with Coach Bill when he was about 12 or 13 years old. We felt Coach Bill has been very thorough in training Daniel over the 10+ years he has been with Coach Bill. Daniel was taught proper body mechanics, then dialing into accuracy, using his body to keep his arm safe. Daniel has pitched through High School, during summer & fall ball, & tournaments. On a college scholarship, he has pitched at Ohio Christian University, where he broke the strikeout record that was held for 23 years. Daniel went on to pitch at Marian University in Indianapolis. He has a strong work ethic & focus. Coach Bill has not only taught him fundamentals, but he expanded the mental focus & strategy necessary that took Daniel way beyond into a pitcher that can go for a full game, not have any arm pain, & most importantly, developed into a strong young man. Coach Bill cares A LOT about baseball, although he is more invested in Daniel becoming a strong, well-rounded young man. Daniel loves & respects Coach Bill tremendously, & we as parents are eternally grateful for the experience & friendship.

We had been looking for pitching lessons for our 13-year-old son for a while. He had consulted with a few other pitching coaches in the past, but when we found Bill, we didn’t have to look any further!
Bill has been wonderful for our son! He teaches the basics and builds from there. Our son looks forward to going every week, and the improvement in his technique has been exciting to watch.
Bill not only instructs on pitching, but also works with the kids, building confidence and helping them to see their potential! So thankful we found him!!

Coach Bill's approach is simple and effective, leading pitchers to learn how to "pitch”, NOT be throwers. This mindset leads to the best arm care program for pitching; many other coaches just don't teach. My son has seen Coach Bill for 9 years consistently, leading to great success on the field and an opportunity to play in college. As his students grow and mature physically, Bill also teaches great mental toughness through simple exercises on the mound. Coach Bill undoubtedly will help with the maturation of your sons’ pitching, taking videos, and breaking down mechanics in real time. If you are considering lessons for your son and you are on the fence as to who your family should work with, don't look any further. Coach Bill will work with anyone willing to listen and practice his methods of arm care and lower-body pitching approach. I will always recommend Coach Bill for any family that is looking for a true pitching coach.

Our son has been learning how to pitch from Coach Bill for almost seven years!!! Each lesson, he learns something new about how he can use his entire body to pitch. Coach Bill is constantly working not only on the technical aspects of pitching, but also on the mentality needed to be a pitcher. Coach Bill will teach you how to own pitching and how to have the confidence needed to be successful on the baseball diamond and beyond.

"My oldest started training with Bill 7 years ago.. Over the course of his training, I have watched my son drastically improve his accuracy and velocity without compromising the integrity of his arm. Bill is a major contributor to the reason my son will be a collegiate athlete in the Fall of 2022. He has taught Aidan to be confident and consistent on the mound and to trust his mechanics regardless of the situation. My youngest son will continue to train under Bill for the years to come, and I am excited to see the progression he continues to make. "
Thanks again for everything, and all three Ray boys will see you tonight.

Coach Bill teaches pitching the right way; he focuses on the lower half for control, velocity & arm health. My son has been with him for 7 years and has NEVER had an arm issue. Coach Bill is more than a coach; he’s family!

Coach Bill is great! Caden was very nervous at his first session, but quickly felt at ease. Now he looks forward to each session!

I've coached baseball for forty years, and Bill Ayres is hands down the best pitching coach I've been involved with. He's great with young kids of all ages, high school pitchers, college pitchers, and beyond. His knowledge of correct pitching form, arm care, warm-ups, etc., teaches a player how to prevent injury and have a long, productive career. I'd recommend 3up3down Pitching to any player who's serious about becoming a standout pitcher.

Bill’s knowledge and support have been invaluable! We have appreciated Bill’s constant attention to detail and his feedback on our son’s pitching. He has been consistent and provided us with the tools needed to make the necessary changes to see improvements in his game. Our son once pitched an entire game and never complained about having any arm pain

We met Bill Ayres 10 years ago in 2012. All I can say is WOW! Full of energy and 100% full speed ahead.
Caleb, my son, finished his freshman year at Roncalli and was worried about pitching his sophomore year. We got him on a travel team. He was holding his own, but nothing electric! Caleb was a left-handed pitcher who was sitting in the low 70s. In a matter of weeks, he had gained 10 mph from lessons with Bill. He had Caleb lengthen his stride and started working with his hands. Caleb pitched all through High School, where he had some pretty impressive games. Bill helped Caleb get into the mid to high 80’s with a lot of work and dedication. Caleb went on to play at Kankakee Community College, where they won the NJCAA Division 2 World Series. And he got a scholarship to the University of South Carolina Upstate, which is an NCAA Division 1 program in the Big South. In his senior year, he stayed in contact with Bill and adjusted as necessary. He became their main reliever and threw in 44 games, reaching 89 mph. Coach Bill did an outstanding job working with Caleb, and I would recommend him highly if you want your son to accelerate and succeed on the mound!

Coach Bill was invaluable to my teams over my 3 years of coaching. He taught repeatable pitching mechanics, 3 effective pitches (fastball, change, and slurve), and the thought process to compete! His pitchers compete, and he makes them better human beings in the process!

My son started pitching lessons with Bill Ayres when he was 11 years old. Over the next 10 years, Coach Ayres taught my son how to pitch…not just mechanics, but the art of pitching. He did all of this while showing my son how to carry himself, not just as a pitcher, but as a baseball player. When someone asks me for a recommendation for pitching lessons, I send them to Bill Ayres and 3up3down Pitching every time!

Coach Bill Ayres has developed a unique way to establish a special, personal connection with his pitchers. His disciplined, yet encouraging approach promotes the importance of proper warm-ups, throwing mechanics, nutrition, and mental focus. He fosters good habits for longevity to make the most of each pitcher’s potential, while helping to prevent injury. Working with coach Ayres has greatly improved my son’s pitching and deepened his appreciation for what it takes to play baseball well.

Let me start by simply saying- we hit the jackpot, meeting Coach Bill. It’s truly an experience, rather than pitching lessons/coaching. He has taught our 12-year-old son, and all of us, so much about the game of baseball, a game we’ve been around for 30+ years, far beyond pitching. We look forward to MANY years to come. Hats off to you, Coach! Would HIGHLY recommend to any age, looking for a unique approach to pitching, and both the physical as well as mental side of the game!

I have been involved with the game of baseball for nearly 50 years and have known Coach Ayres for 12 of those years. Coach Ayres and I met when I was coaching a 9/10U Travel Baseball team in Columbus, Indiana. Coach Ayres came down once per week during the season and twice per week during the offseason to work with our young pitchers. During the time together, Coach Ayres helped our boys develop endurance, control, and more than anything, confidence. Our local team, Columbus Crush, went from being a one-and-done on Sunday to competing for tournament championships. Coach Ayres not only worked with our boys but also with our coaches to establish better game communication and results. All of the young boys that Coach Ayres worked with started for their respective high school baseball teams, whether on Freshman, JV, or Varsity. Over half of the young men received some type of college baseball scholarship offers and have become successful college student-athletes.
From the bottom of my heart, Thank You, Coach Ayres, for your help and support throughout these years.
